Reiki energy healing

I’m learning reiki at the Organic Angel in Norfolk, MA which is run by my dear friend Angela Cote. If you don’t know anything about reiki know this: it’s a form of physical healing utilizing the invisible positive energy which is all around us! It’s super cool.

Other forms of energy work include acupuncture, massage, yoga and tai chi (among others). The first part of reiki certification known as reiki one is all about self-healing – which is exactly what I need – exactly what *most* people need.

Our first evening together last night was incredible. I was with the same wonderful group of women I did yoga teacher training with (sans one) and the energy in the room was just as vibrant and beautiful as it always was.

We opened the session up with meditation and some chanting. Those who are weary of meditation and chanting should know that it’s not a “religious” thing — when you meditate and/or chant you connect with yourself and if you believe in God or a higher power you are much more connected to that as you disconnect from the physical world and the clutter that is your egoic mind.

After learning more about reiki and its history we did a little bit of energy work. I must say that my energy was super low and somewhat depressed when I got to class but by mid-way through I had so much positive energy coursing through me and I can continue to feel that strong universal energy even now!

If you’re even remotely interested or intrigued by reiki you should try it sometime!! I highly recommend heading to the Organic Angel and doing a session with Angela, she is such a loving open person full of kindness and wisdom 🙂
